Milan/Hong Kong, 4 August 2025: SEC Newgate, the global communication and advocacy group, has appointed William Brocklehurst, an experienced corporate affairs adviser, as Managing Partner of its SEC Newgate China business.
SEC Newgate China specialises in corporate and public affairs, financial communications, crisis and issues management, with long established offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
Brocklehurst, who will be based in Hong Kong, will lead the firm’s next phase of growth and development across the Chinese market, building on the strong foundations laid by former Managing Partner James Hill over the past five years, who is returning to Europe.
Brocklehurst brings with him significant agency and in-house corporate communications experience and expertise, having worked in the Chinese market for more than a decade. Brocklehurst joins SEC Newgate from Brunswick where he was a director in the Hong Kong office, having previously also worked for consultancy Teneo and healthcare company Bupa. Prior to working in Hong Kong, Brocklehurst worked for the business group CBI in the United Kingdom.
