
Dan Doherty is the Global Chair of Corporate Affairs at SEC Newgate, where he leads the firm’s corporate, government, public affairs, and crisis specialties. A trusted advisor to high-profile executives, governments, and global organizations, Doherty provides strategic counsel on complex crises, geopolitical challenges, brand positioning, reputation management, and public policy.
With a proven track record in developing integrated public affairs campaigns, Doherty helps clients navigate critical stakeholder relationships through compelling storytelling and strategic engagement. His expertise spans the technology, consumer packaged goods (CPG), food manufacturing, chemicals, and energy sectors, with a deep focus on geopolitics, public policy, and crisis communications. He has advised leading organizations on customer, investor, community, government, and labor relations initiatives.
Doherty has worked extensively with multinational corporations on global reputation and regulatory challenges across key capitals, including Washington, Brussels, London, and Beijing, helping them navigate complex policy environments and stakeholder expectations.
Before joining SEC Newgate, Doherty held multiple leadership roles at Burson Group, including North American Corporate Affairs Practice Leader and North America Public Affairs & Crisis Practice Lead. He previously served as President of TheWadeGroup, Inc., where he oversaw agency operations, marketing, and business development while leading major public affairs and crisis communications efforts—including for an $8 billion consumer packaged goods company.
Doherty holds a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
